| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description The DiCAPac WP-410 is an all-weather vinyl case for compact digital cameras (with short zoom lenses) that lays nearly flat for storage and is totally waterproof up to 16 feet (5 meters) deep! Constructed from thick, high-grade vinyl with a UV-coated polycarbonate lens cover, the DiCAPac is designed to keep your camera clean and moisture-free in almost any environment. The patented "Roll & Velcro" zipper closure system provides two levels of protection to keep your case completely watertight, while the clear panels and flexible material allows you to maintain complete control over all your camera's functions. Best of all, the DiCAPac is extremely lightweight and can be tucked away in a pocket or small bag, making it by far the most convenient option for complete all-weather protection for your digital camera, not to mention the most affordable!

Snorkelers delight March 16, 2010 Al Tilley Jr. Spent two weeks snorkeling on Roatan and used this clever bag to get some pictures of the beautiful reef. It's difficult (for me) to get a good preview on the lcd viewer underwater but I just pointed and shot and have some great pictures to help remember the trip. I followed the simple instructions and had zero problems. I'd buy again.
cool idea, not so cool results February 14, 2010 Patrick (Wisconsin, USA) OK, I will admit that Amazon did ship as promised, offering next day air for 9 dollars which I could not beat. The product arrived as promised. Four days later I flew to Cancun. I did test it in my kitchen sink prior to taking it into the ocean. It did work as I just recently purchased my Canon SD780IS and did not want damage. The camera is tiny, like way too tiny for this size bag and slides around inside it and it is sometimes difficult to center the lens in the bag. The first time I took the camera in the underwater case and swam in the ocean on the beach, it did ok. No leaks...The second time about 5 days later, was the disappointment in the unit failing As I was where the best pics could have been taken, snorkeling off Tulum. I am afraid of eveything in the ocean so I was not taking my fat white self underwater more than a foot down, but the housing failed, the viewscreen got wet, the camera got wet. I am unsure if it was either that the bag leaked, or perhaps condensation formed in the bag resulting in water getting on the camera and basically destroying a 250 dollar camera. If it were condensation, there was about a good size tablespoon in the bag. I was out in the ocean on the surface in 10 foot swells, how do you keep it dry at that point? So I just let it float on the surface and enjoyed or tried to enjoy the rest of the day. I was able to save the memory card, so at least that part of the trip was not a total loss. I won't say the product is a dud, there is room for user error, but I am very meticulous about protecting my gear and taking care of it. Now I have to replace a brand new camera due to trying to get by with a cheaper way of getting it into the water. I would have purchased the more expensive hard shell waterproof case specifically designed for this camera, but the shipper could not get it to me overnight. Amazon allowed me to return the case for a full refund and surprisingly, including shipping. I never heard back from the company that makes the waterproof bag. I think there is a language barrier in customer service or they play dumb and don't return calls. They claim to offer camera replacement, but don't deliver.
So I am out 250 dollars in my cost of my Canon camera. Lesson learned!
Worked perfect for the price December 14, 2009 Keith Hester (Tulsa, OK USA) Used this underwater case for a very small Canon camera for underwater pictures while snorkeling. The bag is a one-size-fits-all for a wide variety of cameras so it did not fit my camera perfectly. However, by adding some packing around the camera with stuff around the hotel room, it worked great. For the price, I highly recommend this product and we now have wonderful pictures to remember a really special vacation.
Works great when you actually use it. December 10, 2009 M. K. Howard (Aurora, CO United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I purchased this underwater case for my brand new Canon PowerShot SD780is. I was skeptical at first because it has just a Ziploc bag type plastic zipper and a couple of Velcro closures you secure after rolling the opening a few times. I did the required test once I received it and put a piece of paper inside, closed it up and submerged it. The paper stayed dry...but still, was I willing to trust it to my $200+ camera?
Well there was no need for me to worry. I took it to the British Virgin Islands on my sailing trip and it worked GREAT! I got great shots of the fish when we stopped to snorkel, as well as fun shots of my family as we just floated in the ocean on our noodles at the end of the day, drinks in hand.
My only recommendation to others who will be using this while on an ocean or beach vacation is to always, always, ALWAYS, keep your camera inside the case. It works great, only if you are actually using it. I took my camera out of the case because we were going to be heading to shore for a party, and proceeded to drop my camera in the one and only puddle on the top deck of the sailboat. Luckily because the case is not extremely camera specific, my sister in-law's Nikon point and shoot fit right into it. We kept her camera in there for the rest of the trip and it worked great, at sea and on land. I did get occasional spots on some pictures when on land, but that was because I forgot to clean off the dried salt water spots that formed on the acrylic lenses cover before using it on land. So again, my fault, not the cases.
Waterproof but not a good fit August 5, 2009 ConsiderThis (Virginia, USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have a Canon SD1200 which is supposed to work with this product. Unfortunately there is no way to secure the camera inside the bag, so it's impossible to keep the camera lens centered on the lens area of the bag. The camera just slips around inside the bag like it would in a baggie. If the camera lens is not centered behind the lens portion of the bag, the bag blocks the camera lens from coming out. Not good for the camera! Perhaps if I had a bigger camera it would work okay. It's also difficult to reach the camera's power switch through the plastic.
The bag opening is designed like a diver's dry bag so will certainly be waterproof. The lens section screws on and off, so I'm not so sure about that.
Four stars for water resistance, no stars for usability.
