These two newest versions have the same pictures as the North America version. Additional text appears with some groups of birds. For the first time, arrows point to areas of the bird where you make the ID. Sort of old Peterson style.

Not as economical as the North America book, but if you are only in one half of the country, may be handy. Only slightly lighter.

The fault I find with most of National Geographic is some groups, like Sparrows, where I prefer a photo guide like Kaufman.

Not a must buy but may help beginners for example.

This is so new for me that I haven’t yet been able to use it in the field but it has many good features and is much more useful than the NG previous edition covering the whole continent

Drawings are among the clearest for differentiating birds; text is fine; format is handy.
