I try it and at first I didn’t see anything . All was some kind of blur and I was getting frustrated. Then I point to a figure that I have at a very close point and Wow!. It was the photographer. The pictures were surprisingly good. If you want to save some money, and you are not looking for this especial aero space lens from Mars that could cost you around $500 (if you are in the Sony Galaxy). This guy here is perfect for the job.

I screwed this into the end of a 50mm 1.4 Sony prime, and it really did a nice job! So far, I’ve only taken some sample picks hand-held. Thanks to the anti-shake feature in the Sony alpha, I actually have a few shots that came out, and they look fine. I think you basically will have to use a tripod with this to get anything that you would want to have others really be impressed by. Still, there are enough situations where quickly being able to screw in a 10x lens into my prime could be handy.

This is good; however, for $10 less, from the same company, you can get a pack of diopters PLUS this 10X lense. I’d recommend that.
This dropped the minimum focal distance on my A100 to about an inch, and gave good expansion. Image qualty was generally clear and undistorted. I didn’t use a square calibration map to verify exactly, but after all, this is an add-on filter-type lense and not an entire assembly, so that’s more bother than it’s worth.
